Congratulations to the 2013 District 6 Honor Band members!
Twenty-five members (two not pictured) of the FCHS Band were selected and participated in the 2013 GMEA District 6 Honor Band. Our district includes all high schools in six counties: Fayette, Coweta, Clayton, Henry, Spalding, and Pike. We are extremely proud of our students!

ALL-AMERICAN MARCHING BAND MEMBER FROM FAYETTE!
Justyn (JP) Davis was selected to participate in the US Army All-American Marching Band in January 2013. He will receive an all-expenses paid trip to San Antonio, Texas to participate in the half time show for the All-American Bowl Game!

WIND ENSEMBLE TO PERFORM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA!
The Wind Ensemble is honored to accept the invitation to perform at the University of Alabama Honor Band Festival. The concert will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 1:45pm in the Moody Music Building on campus.

Winter Guard Places 4th in WGI Regional Competition
Our Winter Guard competed in the Winter Guard International (WGI) Atlanta Regional Competition the weekend of March 4th. The guard won their round during preliminary competition, made finals, and placed 4th overall in the Scholastic A competition where 28 guards from South Carolina, North Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Georgia competed. Go Tigers!

Reinhardt University Honor Band Participants
Five members of the FCHS Band were selected to participate in the 2012 Honor Band Festival at Reinhardt University in February. Pictured are our students (Xavier Williams, Leah O'Rourke, Hannah Parker, Victoria Richburg, and Ashlyn Heinnsen) with their Honor Band Conductor, Colonel Lowell Graham, former Commander and Conductor of the United States Air Force Band of Washington, DC and current Chairman of the Music Department at the University of Texas at El Paso. Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band Receive Invitations!
The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band have both received an invitation to perform at the Kennesaw State University Concert Band Invitational! Concerts will be held at the Bailey Performance Center on March 31, 2012. Congratulations!

TWO SELECTED AS ALL-AMERICANS 2011-2012!
Two FCHS Marching Tigers have been selected as All-Americans! Rose Wilmot (saxophone) and Malia Corbin (color guard) will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to San Antonio, Texas to participate in the half time performance of the All-American Bowl in January 2012. Congratulations!

MARCHING TIGERS HAVE A STELLAR SEASON!
Congratulations to the Marching Tigers! Performances of the 2011 show, "The Hero With A Thousand Faces," earned the following accolades:
*Grand Champion, Gold Division Champion, and Best in Class at the Valhalla Classic in Newnan, Georgia
*Best in Class and 2nd Overall at the Kennesaw Mountain Marching Invitational in Kennesaw, Georgia
*Finalist, 7th Place Finish, and 2nd in Class AA at the Bands of America Regional Championships in Akron, Ohio
CONGRATULATIONS!

MARCHING TIGERS INVITED TO PERFORM IN HAWAII!
The Marching Tigers have been invited to perform in the 15th Annual Waikiki Holiday Parade in November 2012! The parade, held on torch-lit Kalakaya Avenue along Waikiki Beach, will commemorate the 71st Anniversary of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. The Marching Tigers will also perform at the USS Missouri Battleship, and tour the Polynesian Cultural Center, the Dole Pineapple Plantation, the USS Arizona, and Diamond Head. Congratulations!

WIND ENSEMBLE PERFORMS AT USC!
The Fayette County High School Wind Ensemble was invited to perform as a Featured Ensemble at the University of South Carolina Band Clinic. The concert was Saturday, February 19th at 1:50pm in the Koger Center Concert Hall in Columbia. Congratulations!

FAYETTE FESTIVAL OF CAROLS
The FCHS Wind Ensemble participated in the annual Fayette Festival of Carols at Harp's Crossing Baptist Church with the FCHS Chorus and choruses from all of our feeder schools. The FFC serves as a charity event for the Joseph Sams School in Fayetteville. With at total donation of $2600.00, we collected the largest donation in the concert's 5-year history and doubled what was raised last year! Congratulations on a job well done!

TWO SELECTED FOR THE FUTURE MUSIC EDUCATORS COLLOQUIUM
Rose Wilmot (saxophone) and Cooper Haywood (trombone) were selected to participate in the Future Music Educators Colloquium, an event sponsored by the Georgia Music Educators Association designed to encourage high school students who are planning a career in music education. Selected students are invited to attend the GMEA In-service conference in Savannah where there will be special sessions designed for them that are led by veteran music educators. 70 students throughout the state of Georgia have been invited to participate. CONGRATULATIONS!

THREE selected as ALL-AMERICANS 2010!!
Three FCHS Marching Tigers were selected to the US Army All-American Marching Band. Phillip Hayes, Ieesha Watson, and Tristin Thompson were selected to be a part of the 125 member All-American Marching Band and will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to march in the halftime performance of the All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas! According to representatives from the Bowl, FCHS was the only school in the Southeast and one of two in the country to have THREE students selected.
